Nick, '55-'56 Plymouth dashes are way easier to work on than '55-'56
DeSotos. If you just need a top coat of semi-gloss, you could remove the
dash insert trim, take off the A-pillar trim, Mask it well and shoot it.
Then use the towel to clean the dash instead of to cover it.

I actually keep a towel with me to throw on the dash when the glare gets bad. But it hasn't been annoying enough to make me pull the dash out and re-paint it.Nick----- Original Message ----- From: "Phil Maniatty" <pmaniatty@xxxxxxxxx>To: <L-FORWARDLOOK@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, May 09, 2009 5:17 PM Subject: [FWDLK] Paint Gloss-Top of Metal DashMy 55 DeSoto is undergoing restoration. I am trying to achieve as authentic a restoration as possible. I am unsure of the correct gloss or texture paint that should be applied to the metal top of the dashboard. Most of the restored ones I've seen were done in full gloss and this doesn't look correct and also raises glare issues. Thanks in advance for your responses.
