1959 was the last year it was available on a 6-cylinder engine and was
replaced by the A904 for 1960 on 6-cylinder cars.
The cast-iron Torqueflite was a V8-only transmission, as was Powerflite after 1959. The cast iron case Torqueflite and Powerflite were both replaced by the aluminum case A727 for the 1962 model year. I have the original build sheet with mine. I have the 318 4bbl with torqueflite and 3:23 open rear end. any other questions, let me know.
