Dave Homstad can jump in with all the differences, but the major oneregarding the 260 HP (IIRC) 315 56 Hemi was its solid valve lifters , which require adjustment, etc. The 285 HP 57 325 Hemi has maintenance free hydraulic valve lifters.Besides the engine stampings (D500-1xxx , and KD500-1xxx) the 56 engine has a large metal brace that supports the oil filler tube; 57 just has a free standing oil filler tube. Gotta get back to work, now... It looks to me all will work out but trying to be forewarned of any differences. What is the wcfb # of 56's and on 57's? What is the sure way to tell them apart? Dose anyone have the #s for the two so we can positively id this mill? debenson2 431056 Brooklyn Park, Minnesota 55443 USA debensonii@xxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:debensonii@xxxxxxxxxxx>carter carb numbers 56 = 2443sa 57 = 2660s or 2442s ************************************************************* To unsubscribe or set your subscription options, please go to http://lists.psu.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=l-forwardlook&A=1
