Must take a lot of diesel to haul your gas up to your lofty heights. Here in the mountains of western Arkansas, our gas is $3.38, 3.35 if you use your WalMart card. I'm heading to Maine in a few weeks and dread seeing what I'll pay on that trip! Our cheapest 87 octane is $4.21 cash; $4. 31 for credit card. Nice to read that the national average price for un-lead is around $3.70. Our gas, at least is not advertised as having any significal alcohol in it. I'm fairly certain that the Regular was 87 octane on the entire trip; I was most concerned about the HORRIBLE price of gas, at OVER $2.50 ! I ask because I think you have to be around 5000 feet before you can get away with lower octane. For example, in Denver, 85 octane is considered 'regular', while 87 octane is considered 'plus'. Also, once you left Bishop, say when you traveled to Tulsa, what were you filling the tank with ?
