i ended up getting a set of flat top, .040 over-[size] pistons for one of
my V800s... 10:1 flat tops. they are sealed power pistons... i may be able to
come up with a part number- the fact of a flat top or dome isnt as
important as compression height- as in the distance from the piston top to
the wrist pin, and surface of the piston in relation to the deck. these
are a clear 0 to deck. the orig steel shim gasket is probably .015 or so thinner
than the new felpro- so... the realistic compression is probably 9.8 or
9.9
now- here's the trick- a .040 over 318 at 3.91 bore is now a std bore 59
dodge 326 poly piston [also the only poly with hyd valvetrain
i got them through a riend of mine who owned imex- they were a rebuilders'
supply company- federal mogul/clevite/felpro etc dealer. these were
"upgrade" dodge pistons
tri-metal bearings are available for the engine, and hv oil pump as well.
double roller timing chain is the same as the LA, as are the rod bearings.
