Not really. The distributor can be spun 360 degrees in its mount, so you could get the timing at the crank right. BUT, the cam would still be off by 20 or 30 degrees, so the engine will never run very good.

If your timing chain is off one cog on the chain,  should you be able to compensate that with adjusting the distributer either forward or backwards?
