I sincerely doubt that Pic #3 is the identical replacement battery for a '57 Dodge or Plymouth. Why?[1] The curved "m" emblem for MoPar wasn't used until later.[2] The book from which you took the photo says Pic #1 for 1956-58 Chrysler Prod.[3] My 1955-58 Parts Book already has a superceded number for the 1956-58 Dodge/Plymouth/DeSoto 50 amp battery, 1818959 [wet] and 1818932 [dry]. That, coincidentally, is the number for the 1956-58 Chrysler 50 amp battery. In other words, replacement # does not match original #.In addition to the parts book, I looked thru my '58 DeSoto and '56 Plymouth FSM's; the battery pix are the same as the Parts book, none of which show the label. So, for those who strive for absolute authenticity... fughettabouttit !!! Or maybe buy one of the #1 batteries from Neil's vendor pic.--Roger van Hoy, Washougal, WA, '55 DeSoto, '58 DeSoto, '56 Plymouth, '66 Plymouth, '41 Dodge----- Original Message ----- From: "Eastern Sierra Adjustment Services" <esierraadj@xxxxxxxxxxx>To: <L-FORWARDLOOK@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, June 16, 2008 11:18 AM Subject: [FWDLK] Miss Belvie's battery..I think that George McKovich PM'ed me, to say that the MoPar logo, on Ms. Belvie's battery (as depicted on the attached Antique Auto battery folder) was seen to have been placed/oriented toward the fender, instead of its facing inboard, toward the engine compartment. BTW, Style-3 is OEM-correct for Group 24 1957+ cars. The placement of the battery terminals pretty much determines how the battery is to be installed, on the inner fender. Ron Water's pics, from last week, clearly(?) showed that there was no visiblelogo facing the engine compartment, AND(??) that the battery caps may havebeen white-colored. I'm wondering what color to re-paint the yellow "Delco" fake-caps which appear on the Tar-Topper-fake-battery-lid, after I remove the "Delco" embossments FROM the fake-caps.
