I would find it hard to believe, from what i gather these cars were hard for dealers to get at all,much less special order colors. I have a '57 Fury sales brochure with the salesmans notes on it with the cost of all of the options including a continental kit and painting the car. I assume alot of people didn't want the white or beige and dealers repainted them. The guy who built my Fury owned 7 black '58 Furys before it,all painted by his buddy who painted my car. A black one from the factory,I doubt it, now a purple one I'd believe. Might the dealer paperwork only prove that the dealer painted the car for the customer. Of course a close inspection might also provide the proof.
