    I have been checking this page to keep up with the news about the search for Steve Fossett, there is information there about using people like us to help in the search using satellite images on Google Earth, I think they upload current images that you can use with Google Earth to search an area looking for any signs of wreckage or unnatural features, you can read about it on the page this link will take you to.
