I was reading the posts
on this page where a P38 buried and recovered from a glacier is being compared
to Miss Belvedere, which one of them called a 57 Chevy, this person set the
record straight and said something I haven't heard before and don't know if
there is any truth to it but here it is.
John
The car in Tulsa was a ?57 Plymouth Belvedere, not a Chevy, and was not the
rust ?blob? everyone is making it out to be. The bumpers and trim would clean up
?as new? and you could still see the signatures of the Tulsarama ?57 members on
the whitewall tires. The car still has its protective coating on it, so no one
knows what it truly looks like.
The reason it was rusted is because the vault was compromised approximately
25 years ago during some construction work by the city. The decision was made at
the time to NOT repair the cement vault and take their chances. Unfortunately
the damage allowed water inside??..
