David Homstad wrote: Paul, It was common back then for city police cars to have 4 doors, but many Highway Patrol cars were 2 doors. I have several 1956 Dodge police car ads shown as 2 doors, and one photo of a California HP 1956 Dodge D500 2 door. I know here in Minnesota that the HP used 2 door Plymouths at least until 1965. Dave Homstad 56 Dodge D500 Humm,, this has the long - long rams, will have to dredge up when the short rams came out, MIGHT be right for 61!! I would susspect that if this was factory built as a police intercepter (stealth version) then if the short rams were available that year it maybe should have had them?? I cannt tell if there are any drilled holes in the dash metal for bolting anything to it. eg, radio, mic mount. Wouldn't a police car be a 4 door??? even if it were unmarked for this purpose?? -- Paul Holmgren I had a 'senior' moment, I have a 2 door Chrysler that has some signs that it was once used as a form of law emforcement vehicle. We found the mounting holes for the base of the radio in the trunk, and the location the whip antenna was mounted, as well as reinforcement of part of the rear seat area that I was told was typical of the period, as well as signs of heavy usage.
