She is also just a "HUNK OF RUST" with 8 miles on her. It isn't the fact
that she's a rusty old Plymouth,it's what the car represents that a lot of
people aren't getting. If it was a '57 Chevy,a '56 Crown VIc,a Camaro or some
other "me too" car it would mean nothing to the Mopar crowd and probably
wouldn't be as interesting to the rest of the world. Here is a finned Plymouth
in whatever condition it's in that got worldwide recognition, other than
Christine when the hell has that ever happen? In 1957 Wally Parks in Suddenly
didn't get this much publicity . Possibly now some of us can go cruising and not
hear "Look at that '57 Chevy" even though our cars say "Plymouth" or "Fury" on
them. I hope Ron isn't right and people try to let their cars rust to imitate
this one, if anything I hope it inspires more people to realize there were more
than just T-Birds,Corvettes,and '57 Chevys made in the '50's,and that
these were better looking cars. Honestly if the winner wants her restored I
don't think it's an outrageous idea,I'd be against it personally, but I have seen
Jimmy Rawa start with less and build an absolutely beautiful car. Think about
it,someday you're out cruising in a '57 Plymouth and some kid actually knows
what it is,that in itself is worth it.
