Over the years Miss Belvedere filled with water hundreds
of times, the interior, the trunk and maybe even the gas tank which had a vented
gas cap. The interior seats were like a sponge and when saturated they also were
super heavy. Now when the water table drops the car which was submerged under
water for a long time would retain the water inside it and in it's trunk
and seats which was more weight than you can imagine. This cycle repeated
over and over and over again for 50 years naturally broke the rear springs.
Guess they should have buried one with the optional towing package to support
the weight over the years.!!!! Did anybody hear the rumor that city of Tulsa
want to buy the car back from the winner and chop it into little tiny
pieces and sell those pieces as souvenirs of the buried Tulsa
Belvedere completely with a story and photos of the event?
