Re: [FWDLK] canister old filter

Selling oil filters for that much must have become an idea when he sold this good used one for $127.63:

Okay, it’s an original assembly line one…

Only $399.95 (plus freight) for one oil filter, already rusty on the end plate from damp storage.  I wonder what you would have to pay for one that was actually fit to install on a running engine.

Group,

What is the trick to this?   I changed the oil and filter on my car this afternoon and had a terrible time of it.    The new filter came with a rubber gasket to be used on the bottom of the canister.   How do you get this very large rubber gasket to seal correctly (much less line up)?  As a result, I have a large puddle of oil to clean up and a problem to solve.   Assistance please.   P.S.   This might be the final straw to get a converter to the new type oil filters from “hot heads”.

Thanks,

Greg in WI
