The early engines are "A" and the later are
"LA" engines.
You might have to call one a "wide block"
in order to discuss them
with "outsiders" who learned to talk about
them that way.
Everyone else is doing their best to learn
the right nomenclature.
Heck, the 392 Hemi blocks are not wide blocks. They are wide engines
when the heads are on!

is NOT any larger than an LA block. The heads are only marginally larger (due
only to valve angle) and weight difference is negligible. Please please
please stop using this erroneous description. Remember, 'we' are suppose
to know what 'we' are talking about...
