I've driven over 100,000 on original '57 Plymouth rims with radial tires
and never had a problem, even drag racing but if this is a concern to anyone I
recommend sending your original wheels to a company like Wheel Vintiques and
having the outer rim replaced with a new one using the old centers. That way the
original mounting pin will work(newer Mopar rims wont fit our cars with stock
drums due to the locator pin/lug bolt set up),it also won't affect the original
look of your cars since that seems to be a major factor with purist.I don't know
what that will cost but they are extremely reasonably priced on selling custom
offset/chrome wheels so I'm sure a service like that would be cheap. They made
the chrome reverse wheels for my Fury and the quality of work is top notch and
as I said before you can't beat their prices.
