I wasn't there, when it went across-the block.
As much as it may be fun, to belittle those richer than ourselves, for
their ability to pay whatever they want, to buy a certain car/object,
the rest of we proletariate are, at least, allowed to gather in close
proximity to these objed'arte
at auctions, and observe the transactions.
AND, we are not-prevented, at least, from being allowed to open hoods &
doors to get a REALLY up-close-and-personal look at the cars.
Last year, at the Biltmore, BEFORE the car was auctioned, the public who
wanted to, were permitted to get into the RHD driver's seat, of the
"Goldfinger" movie DB-5, (the one with the machine guns & ejector-seat,
etcetc) & get their pic-taken!
