I use a combination (50/50) of Turtle Wax 'Color Back' and Meguiar's show car glaze (a very light abrasive). I use a foam pad at 1000 RPM and so far have had great results with a variety of old finishes. The Color Back is a chemical deoxidizer and the Meguiars removes the dirt and haze. It loads the pad a lot, but I just wash it out in hot soapy water, spin it dry for a minute, and apply the mix again from an old squeezy bottle. -Dave -----Original Message----- From: Forward Look Mopar Discussion List [mailto:L-FORWARDLOOK@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Bryan Scott Sent: Tuesday, October 17, 2006 7:41 PM To: L-FORWARDLOOK@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [FWDLK] 48 year old paint Hi All, The paint on my 58 Fireflite is original to the car. It's heavily oxidized. I'd like to buff-out a section to see if I can get a close sample of the original color. Does anyone have a preferred product and/or process for bringing oxidized paint back to life? I plan to use an orbital buffer, but I'd like to know if there is a "best" product to achieve maximum results. Also, if anyone has any tips for the "process", please tell! ************************************************************* To unsubscribe or set your subscription options, please go to http://lists.psu.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=l-forwardlook&A=1 ************************************************************* To unsubscribe or set your subscription options, please go to http://lists.psu.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=l-forwardlook&A=1
