I'm gonna "risk" trying to enclose these two Jaypegs, below,  which I "copied" and sent, from my office today, to my house, here.

Some people got foot fetishes; I guess I'm 'into' trunk-lids.

I have a LOT of pics of trunks, interior, and suspension-detail, in my collection.

These two pics (I'll try sending 'em 1-@-a-time, if they're not enclosed, below) show typical "owner-applied" painting of the trunk undersides.

The PLY has a very heavy, gross,  application of paint; the 58 Dodge was built in L.A., & had that gray-ish trunk finish, originally. Note its still-gray pass-side hood hinge (oops!) ---the Dodge,  shows less-obvious paint overspray, around the trunk stiffeners/supports.

The Dodge example is important, as the trunk's painting-quality was rather good, & its overspray might have fooled a less-knowledgeable observer.

If the OEM  trunks were painted in this manner (non-masked) , then  all of our  trunks would show overspray  dispersion, similar to that as appears on the Dodge (if not, too, on  the PLY.)

The next set of pics I'll send will show OEM-condition trunk-undersides, with no evidense of any over-spray, including a 57 Fireflite, with a WHITE trunk (& which "might" just,  show evidense of a small amount of overspray, where the paint escaped "PAST"  a "masking".

Also, please compare the appearance of these car's "cloudy" overspray patterns, , with the specific/bright/clear/thick  paint-drippings (without evidense of obvious over-spray) on the 56 DeSoto that I 'sent', a couple days ago,.

So, here goes my 1st attempt @ forwarding 2 Jpegs!!!

Neil Vedder.
