Howdy all,
I went and topped up the tank on my 300D for the first time,
only to watch ½ of it dribble out again. With the price of gas these days I was
less than impressed with my cocktail mix of high octane on the garage floor.
After a few choice words, I pulled the tank thinking it was the tank itself or
the sender gasket but found it to be flowing from where the feed wire enters
the sender unit. Looks like the remains of a rubber seal or o-ring under where
the wire is soldered on? Does this rubber piece act as an electrical insulator
as well as a seal? Can I just “un-solder” the terminal connection lift
the top plate put in a fresh o-ring and re-solder? The unit was working well
and with the price of these things on ebay I’d like to be able to save
it.
Thanks much for any help.
