Jim,

Don't forget, our ForwardLook cars typically had a black cable for BOTH
positive and negative battery cables. You need to actually READ the terminal
label on the battery, trace which cable is grounded, and know if you have a
positive or negative ground system.

The  +  /// Positive //// red  must always be connected together.  Never
connect positive to negative!   On your positive ground car, the
positive goes to the engine block.  Negative ground cars have the
negative of the battery going to ground on the block.  You never charge
a battery backwards!
