The Coronet V8 and Royal used the 270 block with poly heads (that were also used by the 1955 Plymouth). Only the Custom Royal had a 270-cid hemi V8 as standard equipment. What I learned from the poly site is that the poly engine was not introduced until 1956 as a 277 cui in motor. I have a 270 which is just a plain old little V8.
