Well... my old maid aunt always said she'd never have a
foreign car, but her last car was a '79 Dodge Magnum made in Windsor,
Ontario. That was good for some good ribbing.
The Dodge brothers died in about 1920, long before Chrysler
came along. They were probably rolling in their graves when Walter P.
bought DB from Dillon Read & Co. in 1928. But their widows
Mathilde and Anna got a healthy chunk of change for their stock.
A lot of so-called Japaneese cars are now assembled in the
U.S. of A. with perchance as much U.S. content as some of the "American"
cars.
Times have changed, for sure. I still want to know why
D-C isn't more supportive of us hobbyists. Is there someone on the list
who works for D-C that could explain?

Subject: [FWDLK] Who out there.. Only
buys American Cars?
I am one that
sticks to this.. Keep the money flowing in the US only!!! Tell all who are
looking at Honda, Toyota etc.. to keep the money here.. Not in Nagasaki..
BUT!
Slowly, more and
more items are being built out of the US.. I understand cheaper labor costs.
But come on.. Advertise it as such.. They don't even market it as that.. they
just try to go heads up.. Play the Patriot card.. I just don't get
it..
Chevy closing
more factories... Ford having more cars made in Canada and Mexico.. Mopar now
Daimler Chrysler.. (The Dodge bros are turning in there graves!!))Toyota
building cars in the US.. Getting into NASCAR!! UGggg.. when will the madness
end!!
Sorry had to
vent~!
