Sorry I'm late to this 'party'. First, I'm amazed that none of all-ya'll have mentioned that WAGONS are relatively hot-items, now. (Any) 2-dr car-model is "very desireable", and 'racy' (compared to the 'family-oriented' 4-dr models (think Chebbie Nomads). A D500 is "EASY" to restore, as it's an engine-only option. To what extent are the "unique" S/W body/glass and headliner 'easily' restorable?--How complete, & how "heavily" optioned (hopefully P/S & P/B) is the car. What COLOR(S) did it have? The O.E.M. motor is included, with the car, apparently. If the above items are NOT, still, 'good' , or restorable, then the next 2 most- important items are the Paint/Trim plate, & VIN tag, as they confirm the provenance of the car, and they can be transferred (horrors) to a "donor" car. How difficult/expensive will it be, purchase & to transport the car, to the restorer? Then, the question becomes: who has the time/space/interest/money to restore this car? Our Scandinavian friends are renowned for their ability to resurrect basket cases. "Pretty" cars bring big-bucks, at auction. A 'pretty' , "Real" D500 station wagon, that's correctly restored, should bring $40K(+), @ the Barrett Jackson, (Scottsdale) imho. Is the restorer doing-so, to "turn" the car? How FWDLK-'knowlegeable' is he; how diligent is he, in locating correct companents, and how much work can he do, himself?? The answer, as to the "restorability" of this car is dependent upon the above 'points/issues' & questions.
