[FWDLK] Chrome Repair?

Does anyone know what you need to do to ease the rechroming price? I read that if you clean your parts with dish soap the chrome guy will lower the price.  Is that true? How do  you repair pitting?  Does the chrome guy sand parts to get them smooth?
