Because it would show that the car was built in Hamtramck, Michigan, and not in Canada as he previously claimed. Apparently the owner did admit to a writer for Hemmings that the car's VIN showed it was built at the Hamtramck plant. Also that the car was purchased by and shipped to a dealer in Pennsylvania. As well he no longer claims it is one of three built in Canada for Mexico. Nor that the 1961 Polara is rare as Chrysler went and destoyed many because they weren't selling well. He still claims the spare "wheel" on the trunk is an option (it wasn't) and as was the high-back driver's seat (it was standard on the Polara).
