Hi,
Today i've drain the tank and removed it.
There was one or two pints of gas remaining so i've removed the pick-up
tube assy. , slide a lamp through the filler tube opening (easy on
Imperial because the filler tube is connected at tank with a rubber
hose) and look inside through the pick-up tube opening.
I saw a small "blue" thing ( around 3/16" size) in the fuel and also
some other remaining paste of the pickup tube gasket (i put sealer
rather than a gasket ..). I think that the bits of sealer drop when i
remove the gauge but i can't explain the blue bit !! I never used blue
sealer paste on the tank .. because, when i removed it from inside, i
saw thar it was a bit of sealer paste ..
As i said before there was no filter sock at the end of the tube so
this blue crap could have clogged the tube (which is indeed a little
larger than 3/16).
I cleaned all the inside and adapt a filter from a paint spray gun at
the end (no time to order from USA..)
Here are 2 pics:
some of the "materials" from the tank :

the "new" filter : http://www.ifrance.com/c-i-f/images3/pu.jpg
I also put a gasket and no sealer under the gauge assy ..
Tomorrow i'll install the tank and also ask other questions about pumps.
