As far as I know, the old m/c acts as an actuator for the new, power m/c.

I know this is some sort of a brake "booster", - but could someone tell me
how it works? - as well as what cars came equipped with it.  Advantages?
(looks to me like it might clear "Ram Induction" a little better than
anything else).
