My early production '57 Savoy has
the early grille, also has the '56 style steering wheel, and the instrument
cluster that doesn't have the Mayflower ship on it. My Savoy was made in
August of '56. With the steering wheel, it is my understanding that they
used up the '56 style steering wheels on the cheaper models before using the '57
style ones. . . anyone else heard of this? This car is also the only
actual '57 (outside of brochures and advertising) that I've ever seen with the
early lower grille. Anyone else have one?

That
lower 57 grille is very early production only. It is not a mid-year
change. It was a running change.
