Charles/List, there were at least two 'vesions' of this 1957 game--looks
like yours is complete, with "comic-book" - story about the Proving
Grounds.
Your version looks to be the one with the light-plastic/vinyl "mat" ,
which you are supposed to unfold & lay flat-ish , and then use the
magnetic (?) wands, to move your-car, around the track.
The second version features a standard cardboard 'board', and each car
is moved around the board, via a "spinner-move-designator" --otherwize,
the two versions are the same--A "collector" should have both versions,
but I happen to prefer the
'dedicated' cardboard-board one.
