I think this is going to be a publicity nightmare. Those old Chamber of Commerce and city folks back in 1957 knew they wouldn't be around to reap what they sewed. They were after some quick publicity. It sure sounds like a minimum of care was taken to preserve the car. If the nearby traffic didn't crack the cement, no doubt the building construction next door did. I can hear the C and F guys, already, "Too bad they didn't bury a Chev [or a Ford]; it wouldn't have rusted out." And no way to prove them wrong. --Roger van Hoy, '55 DeSoto, '58 DeSoto, '42 DeSoto, '41 Dodge, '66 Plymouth, '81 Imperial, Washougal, WA -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Over 25,000 pages of archived Forward Look information can be easily searched at http://www.forwardlook.net/search.htm Powered by Google!
