A Chrysler New Yorker wagon would be 8703xxxxxx. "85" would be for a Newport wagon. A total of 72,951 1960 Chryslers were built in the U.S. (Jefferson), so the last numbers would run from 100001 to 172951 as the Jefferson plant built only Chryslers.. 1949 was the last year Chrysler had separate numbers for each series. And it is a small tag on the driver's door hinge post. The data tag has the Shipping Order Number, but not the VIN.
