Nothing showed up on your email except the description. But your are right about the Firesweep - it was the cheapest DeSoto using the DeSoto body with Dodge doors, Dodge front clip, DeSoto grille and bumper, all mounted on a Dodge 122" wheelbase. In order from cheap to expensive (for 1957-59) : Firesweep, Firdome, Fireflite, Adventurer. With no picture to view, if you are referring to the "shifter toggles" as the transmission pushbuttons, they were in a pod on the left upper portion of the instrument panel in 1956 to 1958. The did not become fully integrated into the panel until 1959. I was surfing around and found this interesting, and beautiful '58 Firesweep. I also was amazed at the inaccurate information given in the text accompanying the pix. Note that the shifter "toggles" are located on the top left of the instrument panel. And, that the '58 Firesweep was "the most expensive Desoto ever". Very interesting.... Talk about embellishment! ---Zach -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Over 25,000 pages of archived Forward Look information can be easily searched at http://www.forwardlook.net/search.htm Powered by Google!
