I am looking to import a car to Sweden, I don't live there so I have a little bit of a hassle to figure out what exactly is required. The car is a 1967 Chrysler 300 (I know, not a ForwardLook car, flog me publicly!). Has anyone imported a car there and can tell me all it entails (private email: reverend@xxxxxxxxxxxxx)? I understand that I will need to convert (with stickers?) the speedo to Km/h and install E-Code lights before the inspection, also, the inspection should be fairly easy due to the cars age. Due to being over 30 years old it's tax exempt and if I keep the car more than a year I don't need to pay customs either. I've already owned the car for over 3 years here in Los Angeles and the title is in my name which also matters for customs. So I'm just curious about the details when the car comes off the ship, how long do I have before I need to register it, how do I get/pass inspection, how do I get the Swedish plates on it etc etc. I hope someone here lives in Sweden and has done this recently but I will also try the Imperial mailinglist.
