Anytime you buy a vehicle out of Canada you should have the seller fax you a copy or email scan of a vehicle registration showing his name and the VIN on the form. If its not current, insist on seeing a current one befiore final payment, because it can not be brought across the border without a current one. If he has the documentation it won't be a problem to register. A legitamite seller won't haved a problem with this. Most of the provincial records, don't go back on the electronic system more than 10 years so it is a challenge for a car that has been sitting for a while. This does not apply to vehicle parts.
