Jim Pristelski pointed out to me that U.S.-built 1961 and 1962 Mopars did
have the alternator as standard equipment.  Reading the brochures of the
period, that fact was not loudly broadcast except in the Valiant and Lancer
issues.  Only the "Electrical Equipment" section of the brochures made
mention of the alternator being standard.

Chrysler Canada, though, was another story, holding off on the alternator
until 1963, although it was optional in 1961 and 1962, including the
Valiant.
