I guess I need to tell this story to the
list. The Calendars are great and I got 5 of them. I have given one
to my daughter and one to my son. If I get to Oklahoma I will give one to
my other daughter. I kept one for myself. Gotta keep the Kids
looking at Mopars even if they are grown and out on their own. Any way
back in December, I sold a couple of parts to some folks in Germany on
Ebay. You may recall the problem I had and the question I had about
shipping over seas. Well the problem was resolved as the folks were coming
to the good ol' USA fiord a visit and said they would come and pick up the parts
at my house. Well the date of the trip was set and the date to be at my
house was April 1 (no I didn't even think of April Fools Day). They
were to call a couple of hours before arriving here (Shinglehouse,
Pa---where in the world is that?????) Any way no calls came and I
tried to stay off the internet and keep my calls and incomming to a
minimum. About 5:30 PM as I was in my garage looking up a part number, I
heard a car drive up. I looked out and knew at a glance that the people
who were getting out of the Dodge Stratus were from Germany. I open the
garage door and sure nuff it was them. They had tried to call but found
the line busy 2 times so they came on into Shinglehouse. They tried the
Dollar General Store (yes we have one here) and found no one who knew me or
where Bee Hollow Road was. They tried the Unimart--nope no one knew either
so they found the Post Office. Now there they found someone that knew me
and where I lived so they received directions and drove here with out any
problems. It is easy because you get off Rt 44 onto Horse Run and then
turn left onto Coons Crossing and then come 1 mile and turn right onto Bee
Hollow Road---No problem here!!! Well we went and they got the parts
and then exchanged stories about their cars. The one is a real nice 59
Fury 4 door and the other is a 59 Plymouth 2 door HT that is under
restoration. We had supper and invited them to stay the nite rather than
go out after dark and try to find Niagara Falls (about 2 1/2 hours away)
and a motel up there. Now to get to the point I was going to get to in the
first place. I gave them a Forward Look Calendar to take home
with them. Maybe some day they will be on the List.
We had a very nice time talking and just getting to know each other for the
little while they were here. It is great to meet folks and to have a
common hobby. No problem taking at all. We
had another very nice time meeting Dirk and his family from the
Netherlands a few years ago at a motel in Harrisburg. Dirk and I had the
grand opportunity to roam around the Carlisle fair grounds a whole day
together. Another pleasant time. Well I better get off. I just
can't say something short I guess.
Jack In Shinglehouse, Pa Where it
is getting cold again and I have a fire started to keep the home warm
for my wife and I.
PS---Thanks for letting me ramble a
bit

I have to agree with Dave Wallace. I
received my calendar the other day and it's really super. Everyone on
the list needs at least one. Dave S. did a great job as usual and I'd
like to thank him for all he does every day for the list and the people on
it. Thanks, Dave. Keep up the great work. John Paxos
