Lets not forget to give credit where credit is
due. Carl Kiekhaefer who raced the Chrysler 300s in NASCAR and AAA racing
in '55 and '56 found the dirt getting through the delta-wing oil bath air
cleaners of the C300s and 300Bs was what was shortening the life of his race
motors and destroying the bearings. He and his engineers worked with
Purolator to develop paper air filters to the degree that they became standard
on '57 Chrysler products with oil baths still optional on some models for the
die-hards.
