Re: [FWDLK] Disc Brake Conversion

Hello all,
Just wanted to chime in.  I have a set of 14x7 and 14x10 aluminum slots, unknow manufacturer, that fit just fine with the factory discs on my 73 Charger.  The Dippies mount the calipers different.  If you use the front from one, make sure you get the one piece discs that are for 74 and up disc cars.  The previous versions used a two piece, with the hub press fit into the disc.  Not the best for hipo applications.  They all interchange.  You also have to be careful of aftermarket replacements, some are one piece, others are two, for the same application!

Just my pennies,
Chargin'Charles.
Still lookin' for the nonexistent 60 Saratoga (turquoise on turquoise)

Just have to get my say too. I have a pair of older(91) Cragar 14 inch mags.  They just clear the calipers on my Diplomat front end. I have heard lots of cars won't take 14's with disc brakes, so I thought I'd throw that in. There is not much clearance.

There's been a lot of info on disc brake conversion but one item of interest has probably slipped by me,,,,if you use the AAJ conversion or a disc brake setup from a donor car (1977 Volare" or Dodge Aspen) will your original wheels fit over the calipers so you can keep your original wheel covers??? Thanks for any info    John Z
