Despite the weather (or in spite of it), a great time was had by all. It
was nice to see the all FL cars in sea of old Mercs, tri-Chevys, and
model T&A's. Wish I had found more time to chat, but with that stupid
"Lead East Staff" shirt on, they kept finding work for me to do. :( Most
of my free time was spent entertaining family and friends that came for
the day. (And taking a few passes around the circuit in a Cutlass
convertible.)
I have to admit that it still amazes me that a show like Lead East
still exists. It still amazes me that you can combine 1500 performance
cars, 15,000 people, and freely flowing alcohol in the 21st century
without a single problem. No fights, no burnouts. Just lots of people
having a great time. It really did seem like a timeworn back 40yrs. I
almost hated to come home. Can't wait for next year! Next stop: fall
Wildwood!
