The front brakes in my 59 Ply were locking up the past few days. Seems like there was a little man inside the drum with a big hammer. Last nite I readjusted the brakes - turned the 2 adjusters on each wheel until wheel was tight, then backed off adjusters until there was slight drag. No more lockup. You said yours were well adjusted so there must be some other problem. I think driving the car often would definitely be beneficial. I drive mine every day in the summer months and I think what happened in my case is the shoes wore down and the brakes are not self adjusting so there was too much space between drum and shoe, thus causing lockup when applying brakes.
