Re: [FWDLK] 61 DeSoto Torquelfite

I would look to the cable adjustment first, the cable is extended the
furthest by the shifter when you hit reverse, the next position would be
neutral. Could be things came loose and the cable has moved out of the
trans a little bit(or came loose on the back of the shifter).
Is it a 2-speed or a 3-speed automatic? , I have a spare powerflite shift
mechanism if you need one.

The push-buttons on my '61 DeSoto are acting up. I only have drive, no
neutral and no reverse. The car shifts through the gears while
driving, but doesn't go into neutral or reverse. The buttons are going
in all the way, but there is no response. I am going to adjust the
manual control cable. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Any
information greatly appreciated. Thank you. Nick Nichols.
