[FWDLK] Rear Brake Woes

I am trying to remove the rear brake drums on my '57 Coronet to rebuild the
leaking wheel cylinders, but have been unsuccessful in getting the drums
free.  I loosened the axle nut, and attached the brake drum puller.  I was
only successful in taking a nice chunk out of the lip of the drum.  Help!!!!
What is the secret?      LARRY
