Re: [FWDLK] vacuum advance diaphragm leaking and other problems

Hello,
The vacuum advance helps improve timing and throttle
coordination so you get better fuel economy on the
highway. You can plug the vacuum line to the distributor
and adjust the timing to run with only the centrrifugal
advance mechanism that is built in to the older assemblies
such as the 1959 Coronet. Economy may suffer a little,
but with the setting of the timing, it will run fine. I did that
on several cars that I used for drag racing back in the sixties.
