Gary, If the number you have is cast on the part, it is most likely a casting number and not the final part number that would appear in the Parts Book. Sometimes a casting can be made into more than one part number. In the case of a horn ring or cap, it might be chromed, painted, or have different emblems applied. Each variation would be a different part number, but only the casting number would appear on the part. If a casting is delivered completely machined or chromed by the supplier and ready to install, and there is only one variation, then the casting number may also be the final part number.
