I think that the only MOPAR rear disc brakes in the 70's were on d early
70's imperials (i am sure someone know for sure)
I understand that they are not easy to find and replacement calipers are
also tough and expensive to get ahold of.
I am using a rear disc brake connversion made by Stainless Steel Brakes
http://www.stainlesssteelbrakes.com/
I bought it through mancini racing (www.manciniracing.com)
I believe that it uses Ford rear rotors with an Eldorado Caliper (has
parking brake feature on the caliper) with a custom mounting bracket. The
kit looks very complete with longer lugs, adj proportioning valve etc. I am
still a few months away from installing it.
There is also another place where you can get the rotors and brackets, they
can also supply the calipers and everything else. I have not seen the kit
but know several people on another board that have ordered it, not sure if
any have been installed yet.

Good luck,

Subject: [FWDLK] Rear discs?
Date: Wed, 13 Mar 2002 10:16:56 -0500
Hi list,
I'm told the rear disc brake assembly from an early 70s mopar would bolt
up to the 8 3/4 on my '61 Newport-does anyone know if this is true? What
would be a good donor car? I figured as long as I'm doing discs to the
front, I'll do them to the rear and stop even faster... Thanks in
advance,
