Hi Roger, There are obviously some misunderstandings about the location of the directional switch on the 1961 Chrysler. As you say it is on the dash, not on the steering column (no steering wheel puller required). There is definitely something wrong with it since it should be capable of being set to one position or the other without having to continually hold it in position as you make the turn. It should then cancel, as you make the turn, in similar fashion to a steering wheel mounted directional switch. I haven't had the chance to look at my 1961 Chrysler service manual to see what kind of information it has on this switch. If you send me your mailing address, I would be happy to copy whatever is there and send it to you. Coker Tires is the first stop on your tire search. Regardong your turn signal: there is something wrong if you have to hold it in position...You will have to remove the steering wheel to inspect the operational parts.. this requires a steering wheel puller..We will alk you thru it if you deem it necessary Rogerh ----- Original Message ----- From: "rod corson" <rcorson@xxxxxxx> To: <L-FORWARDLOOK@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, March 07, 2002 5:59 PM Subject: [FWDLK] More questions about 61 new yorker > Thanks to all for answering my last question, would appriciate some more > help. > > First question..The car, 61 new yorker 4 dr has been in a barn for 15 years > and needs the tires replaced.
