I am totally unqualified to respond to your question, but perhaps I will jog someone's memory here: seems like one has to drain the torque converter via the little drain plug before it will let loose? I dont know what I am remembering here, other than it was so difficult for a non-mechanic like me to separate trans from engine, that I now keeep the engines and trans together when I take them out of the car (which I probably will never do again anyway) Rogerh ----- Original Message ----- From: "Garrett" <TheBulkster@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <L-FORWARDLOOK@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, February 18, 2002 8:50 PM Subject: [FWDLK] Torque converters and flex plates > Well, it seems I now have another question for the list (that's two valid > questions from me in a weeks time...that has to be a record...me actually > asking two serious questions in a row that is...). > > The question is this, is there any special trick to removing the torque > converter from the flex plate? > My dad is busy unbuilding his "new" 318, and came to a halt when unable to > remove the torque converter.
