Actually, not all dual m/c's are necessarily made for discs. When they switched to duals in 1967 or so by federal mandate, the majority of cars were still drum/drum. With disc brakes you need a check valve along with the proportioning valve. You may be able to get away without the proportioning valve, but as the mechanic said (and others have too) if the cylinder is not matched you have problems. Don't forget, most (probably all) double master cylinders are made for discs and the pressure ratio is not the same. The valve will allow you to tune front to back Mike :-{) |
