Phillipe Courant recently asked whether anyone knew of a source
for rebuild kits for the power steering pump and box. I, too, am
eager to get those items, for my 1958 Town & Country wagon.
Also, I have a local guy who claims he can do the rebuild (so HE
must have the kits) but I'm worried about a source for any worn
parts that would not be part of the kit. Do I have any reason for
concern? Or does the kit contain everything that could be worn
out?
My problem is that once the steering box is removed, the car will
be immobilized, thereby tying up a hoist at the commercial garage
I use. They don't want a hoist out of commission for too long, so
I'm concerned about what COULD go wrong with this particular
rebuild project.
